Southbound Interstate 5 in Seattle reopened around 1 p.m. on Sunday after a motorhome struck a patrol car and a WSDOT truck. The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. near State Route 520 as the trooper and WSDOT were responding to a stalled Metro bus on a ramp. Both vehicles had warning lights activated when the motorhome hit them from behind. The trooper, who was inside the patrol car, reported leg pain and a concussion; a motorhome passenger suffered a broken ankle. The WSDOT driver was outside the truck and was not injured. Trooper Johnson said the crash does not appear to involve criminal activity, and investigators believe the motorhome driver may not have been paying attention.
