The Pordenone city council approved amendment 37 to the master plan, allowing the creation of the city's first motorhome parking area. The facility will be located on Via Saba next to the San Giorgio hospital parking lot and will have 10 equipped pitches, with the possibility of expanding to 13. The approval is part of a budget adjustment aimed at preparing for Italian Capital of Culture 2027.

The municipal council of Martiniana Po has approved the final project for a new parking area for motorhomes and itinerant tourists. The area of about 750 square metres on Via del Cimitero will create ten pitches for overnight stays by self-sufficient recreational vehicles. The total cost is €60,000, of which €48,000 is covered by a regional grant and €12,000 by municipal funds. Tender procedures will soon be launched via the Mercato Elettronico della Pubblica Amministrazione platform.

The organisers of Lucca Comics and the municipality of Lucca appear not to have accounted for camper parking during the festival. Unless no-parking signs for these vehicles appear at the last minute, the area between Viale Luporini and Porta Sant'Anna will be occupied by them for days. It is noted that after 60 years of events the problem remains unresolved and there is no dialogue with residents.

Italian pop-top roof specialist Sky-Up has announced a new Aviotech model for Ford Transit Custom and Volkswagen T7 vans. The roof raises horizontally, providing a constant interior height of approximately 2.20 m along the vehicle's length. It uses an aluminium frame with polyester sandwich panels and XPS insulation instead of a fibreglass mould. Sales are scheduled for the second half of 2027 at a price of around €5000.

Two Romanian citizens, aged 21 and 22, were arrested in Lugo for money laundering after buying a motorhome for 58,000 euros using a forged bank transfer.

Two men from Lamezia Terme have been reported for fraud after a tourist from northern Italy paid 1,000 euros for a staged accident while on a camper holiday in Tropea. According to the Carabinieri, the suspects overtook the camper, simulated a collision and demanded immediate compensation; the tourist made a bank transfer. Investigators used surveillance footage to identify the suspects, who were released pending further proceedings.

In Turin, unknown persons set fire to a camper where 49-year-old Alessandro Pettavino lived for 13 months with his dog. He now sleeps in a basement as locals collect aid.

The motorhome area on Viale Luporini in Lucca is described as shabby and lacking notable services. In summer, the absence of trees and shade discourages parking, and the adjacent car park is frightening at night. The city should provide a proper motorhome stopover rather than an old dirty booth passed off as reception. The motorhome movement is said to be economically significant.

On 9 October 2026 in Livorno, a 55-year-old Swiss tourist sustained a trauma to the left side of her chest after falling inside a camper. The incident occurred around 8 a.m. at the entrance to the southbound motorway when the camper braked sharply to avoid a collision with a car that cut it off. The woman was standing at the time of the impact. After initial treatment at the scene, she was taken to the emergency department of Livorno Hospital.

Police in Porto Cervo arrested Alessandro Diaz, a former Dinamo Sassari basketball player, after a check on provincial road SP13 between Palau and Cannigione. A search of his camper uncovered 43 doses of cocaine weighing about 1.5–1.6 grams each, 6,200 euros in cash, and materials for cutting and packaging drugs. Diaz, who lived in the camper at a campsite in Arzachena, was taken to Nuchis prison; the investigation began on 8 October following a report of suspected drug dealing in Palau.

The third edition of the Camper Day Tramontana rally will take place on Sunday, 11 October, at the Sa Corona Arrùbia Museum in Lunamatrona, dedicated to Davide Serra, known as Tramontana, who died prematurely at 56 in June 2023. The event is open to camper enthusiasts and others; around thirty vehicles have registered, and organisers announced a sell-out on Wednesday, with registrations closed on Tuesday. Serra had suggested to the Villanovaforru municipal administration the area on via delle Grotte for a camper area; funded by regional law 16/2017, it opened on 15 June 2024 and can host up to ten campers, offering free Wi-Fi, loading and unloading services, electricity and toilets. The programme includes a gathering at the museum at 10:00, a parade at 11:00, an aperitif at Sa Corona Arrùbia park at 12:00, lunch at 13:00 and a museum visit at 15:00.

From 30 October to 1 November, the town of Amandola in Italy's Marche region will host Diamanti a Tavola, a festival celebrating the white truffle of the Sibillini Mountains. Camper Club Sibillini is organising a motorhome area on Via Ugo La Malfa. The participation fee is 40 euro per motorhome, including electricity, camper service, showers and toilets; an adjacent parking area without electricity costs 25 euro from Friday, 15 euro from Saturday and 10 euro on Sunday only. The programme includes a truffle-hunting demonstration with dogs, a beekeeping lesson with honey tasting, a tour of the historic centre and entertainment.

Two bids have been submitted in Torregrande for the management of the Grandi Eventi area and the adjacent motorhome parking. The envelopes were opened on 25 September; a commission chaired by Maria Rimedia Chergia is evaluating the technical proposals. The concession lasts 20 years, extendable to 30, with a base annual fee of 35,000 euros, reduced to 3,500 euros (10%) for the first three years. The bidders are a group led by Quamvis (event organisation) with Asd, Cooperativa Sea Scout and Ainnanti di Siris, and the social cooperative Sulcis Sardegna of Buggerru, which already manages the motorhome parking in Buggerru.

Giottiline has unveiled the Siena 340, a profile motorhome on a Stellantis chassis measuring 5.99 m long and 2.32 m wide. Its rear features a U-shaped lounge with a central table, a layout typical of the British market. The model offers four berths and four travel seats, swivel cab seats, a washroom with a Vario pivoting shower wall, and a kitchen with a gas locker for two large bottles. Pricing starts at €63,800. Giottiline sold nearly 500 units in France last year.

A 1989 Fiat Ducato Clipper 570 LX was stolen in Pinerolo on 3–4 October 2026. Three days later it was found in Piossasco at a Roma camp on Via Volvera with repainted panels and a ground-off chassis number.

On 8 October 2026 around 13:00 on the Siena–Florence motorway at the San Casciano Ovest service area, a camper was overturned by a tornado. Firefighters extracted two people and handed them to medics.

Wingamm has unveiled the Oasi 540.1, a semi-integrated camper measuring 5.42 metres based on the Fiat Ducato. Prices start at 111,741 euros and can reach 172,468 euros.

Construction has begun on a new camper area in Villanova Mondovì, on the site of former bowling greens. The project, designed by Gerion studio and costing 75,000 euros, will provide just under ten pitches with full water fill and dump services. It is funded by a regional contribution for rest areas. In the same area, Poste Italiane, in collaboration with Enel-X as part of the Polis project, will install an electric vehicle charging station. Meanwhile, in Villanova, work is finishing on porphyry paving in the town centre, and a raised platform is being installed on Via Frabosa at a cost of just over 42,000 euros to slow traffic and improve pedestrian safety.

A hearing before the regional administrative court (TAR) has been scheduled for 21 October to decide on the legality of reopening the Conero campsite in Portonovo. A 32-page appeal filed in September by a local resident seeks to annul all administrative acts and the single regional authorisation (PAUR) that unblocked works after about 16 years of litigation. The procedure, reactivated in recent months, now risks being halted again. The campsite previously opened in 2010 but was closed a year later for similar reasons. The cooperative's leadership aims to reopen the site in June 2027, but work has been postponed pending the court's decision.

Monza's City Council approved a motion by Paolo Piffer to create a public equipped motorhome parking area with camper service. Mayor Paolo Pilotto supported the proposal, noting that a city of 120,000 residents needs accommodation for motorhome travelers. Monza previously had the Santa Maria delle Selve campsite with over 200 pitches, which closed between 2018 and 2019. The new area, intended for 20–30 motorhomes, is to include grey and black water disposal, drinking water supply, and electrical hookups. Management could be municipal or concessioned.
