On a state road in Italy, between the regions of Umbria and Lazio, a bus, a motorhome and three cars collided. Six people died and dozens were injured. According to initial findings, the motorhome crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the bus. Four of the victims were in the bus, two in the motorhome. Among the injured is a child who was taken to a hospital and is out of danger. The prosecutor's office is investigating, and authorities plan to analyze dashcam footage.
In Olbia, a proposal has been made to use part of the Olbia Arena, covering about ten hectares, for a paid camper parking area during periods when no events are scheduled. The idea is based on the example of Dinan, France, which offers parking and a campsite for motorhome travelers. The proposed facility would operate only when the event calendar allows, featuring automatic barriers, basic services, and possibly shuttle connections to the city center and beaches.
The Tuscan town of Borgo San Lorenzo currently lacks a designated motorhome service area. Previously, drivers could dispose of waste at the Foro Boario, but this was removed during redevelopment. A fire broke out early on 13 August at the Bosco Verde campsite in Torre del Lago, destroying a camper and two caravans. No injuries were reported.
In Rovereto, in the Sacco district, the parking lot on via Fedrigotti has been reorganized. Under a new ordinance, six parking spaces are now reserved exclusively for motorhomes, while the remaining spaces are for cars. Additionally, vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are banned from entering the lot. The changes aim to prevent motorhomes from occupying large spaces for extended periods.

Sassari will reserve a 40-space parking area for campers and motorhomes from August 14 to 15 during the Candelieri festival. Other vehicles will face parking restrictions.
Residents of Rivoli, near Turin, voiced concerns on social media about two camper vans parked in Piazza Aldo Moro and later at the hospital parking lot. The Ancona city council has extended the concession for the management of the camper area in Posatora until December 2027, granting the Campeggiatori Club Adriatico association a 90% reduction in the annual fee, from over 30,000 euros to about 3,022 euros plus VAT. The association covers maintenance costs, including green areas, electrical systems, and insurance. The temporary extension ensures service continuity while the municipality decides on the future use of the 8,200 sqm site.
