A caravan burned down in Mindevegen on the night of 5 October. The owner was unable to save the vehicle but kept the flames away from the house wall until emergency services arrived. No injuries were reported.

A fire broke out in a caravan in Skien. The incident was reported by Telemarksavisa. Further details, including the cause and damage, were not provided.

At 05:17, police received a report of a fire in a caravan on Mindevegen in Skien. Five people were evacuated from neighbouring buildings and three from the building where the caravan was parked. No one was injured. By 05:34, firefighters had extinguished most of the fire, and six minutes later the fire was under control, allowing evacuees to return home. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Unknown persons entered a caravan belonging to Linda Bacher Håland's family at Rosfjord camping in Lyngdal, turned on lights and heating, raised a flag, and then vandalised the interior. Håland was at home in Sola when neighbours at the campsite called her on Friday. The family has had the caravan at Rosfjord for four years.

Andre Stornes opened Sjøfronten bobilpark in Ulsteinvik in April 2025 under a three-year dispensation from zoning regulations. The waterfront site has five motorhome pitches with electricity, artificial grass and a simple emptying station; costs reached around 700,000 Norwegian kroner, including 500,000 for groundwork and 90,000 for two power pillars. After an initial lack of visitors, occupancy rose in July and August and remained strong through September and October. Stornes plans to stay open year-round, weather permitting.

Spanish authorities have clarified rules for parking and camping of motorhomes on streets and roads to prevent discrimination compared to passenger cars. A motorhome cannot be prevented from parking where other vehicles of the same size can park; signs banning motorhomes are generally not allowed, but height restrictions or other obstacles applying to all vehicles of the same size may be introduced. When parking, it is prohibited to set out chairs, extend an awning, lower support legs or open side windows — that constitutes camping. The new rules take effect on 1 October 2026, though enforcement remains at the discretion of individual police officers.

Around 10:50 on Wednesday in central Sandnes, Norway, wind blew down a roughly 100-square-metre wall section from an old warehouse onto three parked cars at a car park on Jernbaneveien. One of the cars was two days old. No injuries were reported. Police cordoned off the area, and the building owner was notified and is sending personnel to secure the site. The Meteorological Institute issued a yellow warning for strong wind gusts of 25–28 m/s in inner areas of Rogaland and Hordaland from 16:01 on 30 September to 11:00 on 1 October.

Police in South-West Norway responded at 07:37 to Risøy in Haugesund after a report of a break-in in a caravan. A suspect was observed in the area and quickly detained; he had items on him allegedly stolen from the caravan. Police are in contact with the victim and are investigating further. It has not yet been stated whether anyone has been arrested or whether there are multiple suspects.

Royal Decree 518/2026, published in the official state gazette (BOE) on 26 June, takes effect on 1 October and sets out how motorhomes and other vehicles equipped as living units must be parked. The revised traffic regulations specify what constitutes parking and which situations may be classified as camping.

Most motorhomes sleep 4–6 people, fuel consumption is 10–12 litres per 100 kilometres, and batteries charged by solar panels last 2–3 days. Wild camping is permitted in France and parts of Austria, but prohibited in Slovenia, Montenegro, Belgium and Italy. A European motorhome tourist who visited the Lofoten Islands this summer shared his experiences with Vågan municipality. He stated he will not return.

According to Statens vegvesen, 67,415 motorhomes are registered in Norway. Hymer tops the brand statistics with 6,545 vehicles, accounting for 9.7% of the fleet. It is followed by Bürstner (5,595) and Dethleffs (5,538), all part of the Hymer Group. Next are Challenger (4,323) and Adria (4,263) from the Trigano Group. 51 brands have more than 100 registered motorhomes, together covering 65,205 units, or 96.7% of the total. The remaining 176 brand entries have 100 or fewer vehicles each, totaling 2,210 units. The data reflects historical registrations and may contain inaccuracies due to changes in registration practices.
