The Swedish-made Kabe Brilliant 470 XL caravan is rated for temperatures from −35° to +35° and has a maximum mass of 1700 kg, requiring a BE driving licence for towing. It offers four berths, a French bed measuring 1.4 by 1.95 metres, a dining area with a convertible table, a kitchen with three gas burners and a 122-litre fridge, plus a heated compartment for drying skis and wet gear. The new caravan is priced at 8,100,000 rubles.

Kabe has unveiled the fully integrated Imperial Traq i830 motorhome based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis with rear twin wheels and optional four-wheel drive. The model measures 8.32 m long, 2.33 m wide and 3.07 m high. The permissible total weight is 5.5 tonnes, payload 830 kg, towing capacity 1,980 kg and gross combination weight up to 7 tonnes. Power comes from a 190 hp turbodiesel engine paired with an automatic transmission. Two layouts are available: LGB with two single beds and a drop-down bed, and LQB with a central double bed; both can sleep up to six. Equipment includes two 150 Ah lithium batteries, a solar panel, an inverter and the Smart-D 2.0 system with touchscreen. An optional off-road package adds a roof rack, auxiliary lights and matte black alloy wheels. Pricing has not been announced.
Swedish company Kabe presented the Imperial TRAQ i830 in Germany — the first integrated motorhome based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with an optional Torque on Demand all-wheel-drive system. The Sprinter chassis with a 190 hp engine has rear-wheel drive with dual wheels, a gross vehicle weight of 5,500 kg and a gross combined weight of 7 t. Length is 8.32 m. The all-wheel-drive system uses a multi-disc clutch to automatically distribute torque between axles, reaching 50% to each in critical situations. A double floor houses a 200-litre fresh water tank and a 102-litre grey water tank (heated). The kitchen combines two gas burners and an induction cooktop. Prices start at about R$ 1.54 million (259,000 euros) without the all-wheel-drive option. The model is not sold in Brazil.
CARAVANING has compiled a list of seven tandem-axle caravans aimed at couples. Single-axle models are typically limited to around eight metres in length and two tonnes gross weight; tandem axles allow lengths over nine metres and gross weights from 2.5 tonnes. The selection includes the Adria Alpina 663 HT (8.70 m, 2,500 kg, from 48,190 euros), Fendt Diamant 650 GDW (8.60 m, 2,400 kg, from 59,370 euros), Hobby Prestige 660 WFC (8.33 m, 2,000 kg, from 41,940 euros), Kabe Imperial 630 TDL FK (8.50 m, 2,300 kg, from 93,495 euros), Knaus Nordwind 660 PXB (8.65 m, 2,200 kg, from 49,900 euros), Polar Chimera 650 BQDA (8.55 m, 2,000 kg, from 93,390 euros) and Tabbert Puccini 685 DF Finest Edition (8.94 m, 2,760 kg, from 56,690 euros).
Kabe has introduced the Imperial 630 TDL FK for the 2027 model year, a luxury caravan with an unusual layout: the kitchen is at the front, the living area in the middle, and the bedroom at the rear. It measures 8.50 m in length, 2.50 m in width, and 2.78 m in height, with a permissible gross weight of 2,300 kg and a base price of 93,495 euros. The caravan features a hybrid induction hob, oven, microwave, 167-liter compressor refrigerator, Alde Compact 3000 central heating, AGS II Pro underfloor heating, and a Dometic FreshJet FJX7 2600 air conditioner.
At the Caravan-Salon in Düsseldorf, new flagship motorhomes were presented. Among them are the Kabe Imperial Traq 830 (from €260,000), the Eura Xtura 656 (from €183,000), and the Laika Kreos 8.08. Also shown was the Dethleffs A6823-2 with a gross weight of 5.5 tonnes.

Finnish publication Moottori compared fuel consumption when towing a Kabe caravan (max weight 1570 kg) with two used cars: a diesel Volvo XC90 and a petrol Saab 9-5. The Volvo averaged about 13 l/100 km, costing 29.4 euros per 100 km at a diesel price of 2.264 euros/l. The Saab averaged about 15 l/100 km, costing 31.4 euros per 100 km at a petrol price of 2.093 euros/l. The extra cost compared to driving without the caravan was 12.5 and 10.3 euros per 100 km, respectively. The authors note that aerodynamic drag affects consumption more than weight, and that differences in consumption between cars tend to level out when towing.
KABE has unveiled the Crown i780 LGB for model year 2026. The integral motorhome measures 7.82 m in length, 2.33 m in width, and just over 3 m in height, with a permissible gross weight starting at 4,500 kg. The LGB layout features two single beds at the rear and a drop-down double bed above the lounge, providing four fixed sleeping places. It includes the Smart-D 2.0 system with CAN bus and Bluetooth, a 100 Ah lithium battery, a 30 A charger, a 280-liter fresh water tank, and a heated 150-liter waste water tank.
Mercedes-Benz will present the updated Marco Polo and Marco Polo Horizon at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf (August 28 – September 6), along with a new all-wheel-drive option for fully integrated motorhomes based on the Sprinter. Production of the Marco Polo and Horizon moves in-house, allowing more flexibility. Improvements include lighting, shading, acoustics, and connectivity. Technical details and prices are not yet disclosed. The Torque-on-Demand system will be available for fully integrated models, with the first prototype being the Kabe Imperial Ri830 Traq 4x4. Last year, one in ten Sprinters was sold to motorhome customers.
Swedish motorhome and caravan manufacturer Kabe, based in Tenhult near Jönköping, increased sales in the second quarter compared with the same period last year. Profit rose 90% and the share price jumped. CEO Alf Ekström attributes the growth to the removal of a tax that made owning a motorhome costly for three years, as well as to more dedicated parking sites across Sweden. Demand is strongest for lower-priced models, while the all-wheel-drive motorhome unveiled this week, priced at around two million kronor, targets a different segment.
Swedish singer Charlotte Perrelli and her husband Anders Jensen showed their Kabe Imperial 910 motorhome, worth about 2 million Swedish kronor, to the magazine Hänt. They use it during her summer tour so the family can be together. The motorhome has a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, and can sleep four people.
Swedish manufacturer Kabe, in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz, offers an all-wheel-drive option for its Imperial and Crown integrated models built on the new Sprinter chassis. This is the first integrated motorhome with 4x4 among manufacturers for the 2027 season. The option is available in the TRAQ i830 configuration with either a double bed or longitudinal single beds.
A Norwegian couple had their 2021 Kabe motorhome stolen from a parking lot at the Milanofiori shopping center in Milan. The thieves disabled the alarm and drove off within minutes. The couple, who have been traveling in Europe since 1987, were able to return home using a photo of a passport and received an insurance settlement covering most of their losses, including two e-bikes.
At the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Mercedes presented an all-wheel-drive Sprinter as a base for fully integrated motorhomes. The prototype, developed with Sweden's Kabe, is called Kabe Imperial Ri830 Traq 4x4 and features a Torque-on-Demand system that adapts power to each wheel. It has two berths, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a garage for skis or bikes. An off-road package will be offered later. The Imperial series is Kabe's most luxurious, with a starting price of at least 2.7 million kronor.
Mercedes-Benz has approved its Torque-on-Demand all-wheel-drive system for fully integrated motorhomes for the first time. Swedish manufacturer Kabe presented the first prototype, the Kabe Imperial Ri830 TRAQ 4x4, at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. The system automatically distributes torque between the axles in a ratio of up to 50:50, improving traction on snow or muddy ground, but does not turn the motorhome into an off-road vehicle. The additional equipment adds about 180 kg of weight. Availability and pricing have not yet been announced.
Kabe, in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, has introduced a fully integrated motorhome with all-wheel drive. The Crown and Imperial TRAQ 830 LGB and LQB models come standard with rear-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available as an option for 96,000 kroner. The approved gross weight is 5,500 kg, and the train weight is 7,000 kg. Production is scheduled to begin in spring 2027, with the public debut at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.
