Kabe has introduced the Imperial 630 TDL FK for the 2027 model year, a luxury caravan with an unusual layout: the kitchen is at the front, the living area in the middle, and the bedroom at the rear. It measures 8.50 m in length, 2.50 m in width, and 2.78 m in height, with a permissible gross weight of 2,300 kg and a base price of 93,495 euros. The caravan features a hybrid induction hob, oven, microwave, 167-liter compressor refrigerator, Alde Compact 3000 central heating, AGS II Pro underfloor heating, and a Dometic FreshJet FJX7 2600 air conditioner.

Promobil magazine has launched a multi-month supertest of the Hobby De Luxe 460 UFe caravan. The model, with a body length of 5.46 m and a width of 2.30 m, is designed for a couple but can accommodate guests or a small family thanks to a convertible seating area. A permissible total weight of 1.5 tons allows a wide range of tow vehicles. The standard equipment is comprehensive for holidays; the test vehicle includes only four extras.

Promobil magazine reviewed 12 fully integrated motorhomes (vollintegrierte Wohnmobile) as entry-level luxury models. All are built on Fiat Ducato or Mercedes Sprinter chassis, up to 7.5 m long, with base prices from €100,000 to €145,000. A key issue is curb weight: most are registered as 3.5-ton vehicles, but due to heavy construction (large windshield, double floor) payload is limited. Upgrading to 4.4–4.5 t GVWR is recommended for practical use.

Dutch manufacturer Ventje unveiled the new T7 campervan based on the seventh-generation VW Transporter. The model offers up to seven belted seats, three drivetrain options (diesel, plug-in hybrid, electric), and a folding seat system originally developed for the electric version based on the VW ID. Buzz. The system, which won iF Design Award and Red Dot awards, allows the interior to transform from a seven-seater into a full living space. The presentation took place on June 20 in Hanover.

Annika and Claes-Ove Asp from Borås intend to sell their villa and buy a larger, more luxurious motorhome than their current one to live in permanently. The couple have visited the motorhome and caravan show at Elmia in Jönköping since 1987 and bought their first motorhome in 2003. The Elmia Husvagn Husbil show is taking place this week and is expected to attract up to 35,000 visitors; the halls feature new models ranging from small caravans priced at a few hundred thousand kronor to motorhomes costing 10–15 million kronor.

At the Elmia motorhome show in Jönköping, opening on September 9, Midland, together with Husbilskompisar and Sunlux, will organize contests. Visitors can test their reaction speed at the Midland booth and receive a 20% discount on autumn oil changes and fuel system treatment. Injector Cleaner and Water Remover products will be sold at the booth for 100 kronor per bottle.

According to the HRF 2026 survey, 43% of Generation Z in Sweden are open to caravan holidays, and 24% have actively considered it in the past two years. Comfort (71%) and price (66%) are key factors. Many beginners start by renting or buying a used caravan: three out of four current owners bought their first caravan second-hand. The Paninder family from Helsingborg, who began with a borrowed caravan, now spends 60–80 nights a year in their caravan.

In Djurås, Gagnef municipality, a caravan owned by Birgitta and Sune Westman, parked in the same spot since 1987, was broken into twice this summer. The first break-in occurred in early July, the second last week; in both cases the window was smashed, but nothing was stolen. After the second incident, the owners installed a surveillance camera, plan to add a gate, and have filed a police report.

Swedish police warn drivers towing trailers or caravans about the need for additional mirrors if standard ones do not provide adequate rear visibility. A simple test: if, standing behind the trailer, you cannot see the towing vehicle's mirror, the view is blocked and extra mirrors are required. The fine for missing or defective indirect vision equipment is 500 Swedish kronor.
