Volkswagen, together with German startup Stuff Bubble, has developed the California Beach Air camper concept, replacing fixed furniture with inflatable modules. The modular system accommodates one or two mattresses and a kitchen unit weighing under 10 kg with a gas hob. The equipment can be deflated and stored, turning the van back into a regular six-seat vehicle. The concept is not yet in production; more details will be revealed at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.
