At the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles presented for the first time a concept for modular equipment for the California Beach, developed with German startup Stuff Bubble. The concept includes an inflatable kitchen and an inflatable bed that fit in the luggage compartment without permanent mounting.
The kitchen measures about 120 x 44 x 47.5 cm, weighs less than 10 kg, and features a closed water system. The modules fold down to 12 cm in height, allowing the van to be used as an everyday vehicle. For now, it is a showpiece; Volkswagen plans to gather visitor feedback before a possible production launch. Commercial availability and prices have not been announced.
