At the Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf (August 28 – September 6), Stellantis Pro One presented an updated 2.2-liter third-generation Multijet turbodiesel producing 160 hp (118 kW) for camper conversions based on the Fiat Ducatoⓘ, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Jumper, and Opel Movano. The 2184 cm³ common-rail engine meets Euro-6 standards and is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox (380 Nm) or an 8-speed automatic AT8 (400 Nm), which reduces CO₂ emissions. The engine is produced at the Sevel plant in Atessa, Italy.
The new unit fills the gap between the 140-hp and 180-hp versions intended for heavy and loaded vehicles and is aimed at campers with a gross weight of up to 3.5 tonnes, combining performance and efficiency. FIAT Professional has already opened orders in Germany for this engine on Fiat Ducato camper versions; details on prices and availability across all models will be announced later.
Stellantis continues to develop internal combustion engines, noting that the share of electric vehicles in the US is only about 6%. The engine may also appear in the commercial lineup, as it is prepared for Euro-7 standards, which take effect on November 29, 2027.
