Bürstner, part of the Hymerⓘ Group, has announced it will stop producing caravans (trailers) from the 2027 season. Production capacity will be redirected to motorhomes and camper vans. The decision is part of the "Bürstner Reloaded" strategy amid a 11% drop in European caravan sales in 2025.
In Germany, 18,766 new caravans were registered in 2025, down 13.4% year-on-year. Earlier, about 40 jobs were cut at two plants. Some sources say no further job cuts are planned, while others mention the previous reductions.
Service and spare parts for existing caravans will continue in full. Motorhome and camper production will continue at the Kehl and Wissembourg plants.
