Hymer is a leading German motorhome and campervan manufacturer, founded in 1923 in Bad Waldsee. It is the flagship brand of the Erwin Hymer Group (EHG), Europe's largest motorhome manufacturing conglomerate, which includes Bürstner, Carado, Dethleffs and Niesmann+Bischoff.

According to Statens vegvesen, 67,415 motorhomes are registered in Norway. Hymer tops the brand statistics with 6,545 vehicles, accounting for 9.7% of the fleet. It is followed by Bürstner (5,595) and Dethleffs (5,538), all part of the Hymer Group. Next are Challenger (4,323) and Adria (4,263) from the Trigano Group. 51 brands have more than 100 registered motorhomes, together covering 65,205 units, or 96.7% of the total. The remaining 176 brand entries have 100 or fewer vehicles each, totaling 2,210 units. The data reflects historical registrations and may contain inaccuracies due to changes in registration practices.

In a new episode of the Vanecdotes podcast, Fiona Lauriol and her parents describe how in 2017 they removed Fiona's grandmother from a care home in the Paris region, where doctors had given her a week to live, and set off in a used 4.85-metre Hymer coachbuilt motorhome. The promised week turned into three years, three months and three weeks on the road. Inside, Fiona slept in the over-cab bed while the dinette converted each evening into a bed for her grandmother. The family now gives talks against the isolation of elderly people.
IMTEST tested five compact camper vans measuring between 5.40 and 6 metres at a campsite in northern Germany. The models included the Forster Livin' Up V 599 VBL, Hymer Free 600, Sunlight Cliff 540 RT Adventure Edition, Volkswagen Grand California 600 and Weinsberg CaraTour 600 ME. The test assessed equipment and connectivity, driving and safety, as well as living and sleeping areas. Prices for new camper vans start at around 45,000 euros, while models such as the Volkswagen California 6.1 can reach 100,000 euros.

For the first time, the Caravan Xpo show at Hellerudsletta offers items in all price ranges. On opening day, contracts were signed for a Morelo motorhome at 6 million kroner and a Concorde at 5 million kroner. On Saturday, a Hymer ML-T 580 4×4 motorhome sold for just under 4 million kroner. The show runs until Sunday at 4 p.m.
The show will be held on September 26–27 at Pacifico Yokohama. Final participants have been announced, including actor Shido Nakamura, TV host Becky and New Japan Pro-Wrestling wrestlers.
At the Caravan Expo in Hellerudsletta, Norway, Wivestad Gruppen presented Hymer motorhomes customized by Palmo Exclusive. The vehicles, based on Mercedes-Benz chassis, offer bespoke features such as a gold toilet. Base price for a Hymer starts at around 2.6 million Norwegian kroner, and after customization exceeds 4 million. The company aims to sell 10–15 units in the first year.
The German Institute for Service Quality (DISQ) has awarded the new Erwin Hymer Group brand CORIGON the "Product of the Year 2026" award, presented for the first time in the vehicles category. The jury evaluated brands on uniqueness, utility and market relevance. CORIGON offers reduced model ranges, proven floor plans and pre-configured equipment packages. For model year 2027, the Teilintegriert Pure range gains a revised T-hood, additional assistance systems and a standard multimedia package with reversing camera, plus an optional diesel heater. The 2.14 m wide Slim models receive a lifting bed and a larger refrigerator. The brand provides a seven-year leak-tightness warranty.

Sunlight, a subsidiary brand of Hymer, has updated its compact semi-integrated V60 motorhome line for the 2027 model year. The base version is now called Root and starts at 51,799 euros, while the Adventure version starts at 57,399 euros. Both are built on Citroën Jumper (Root) or Fiat Ducato (Adventure) chassis and measure 5.96 m long, 2.14 m wide and 2.74 m high. The Root offers two berths, with an optional third berth available for 349 euros.
Hymer subsidiary Sunlight has unveiled the UNLTD series of four semi-integrated motorhomes based on the Ford Transit. The T 7003 S and T 7033 P measure 7 metres, while the T 7433 S and T 7433 Q are 7.40 metres long. A large rear garage accommodates bikes, surfboards or skis. Prices start at 65,999 euros for the T 7003 S.
On Sunday, 27 September, from 9:30 to 19:00, Bonometti Centrocaravan in Altavilla Vicentina holds an open day. The event follows the Salone del Camper in Parma and launches the dealership's seasonal calendar. Visitors can view 2027 caravan and camper novelties, as well as new and used vehicles from Bürstner, Carado, Etrusco, Hymer, Laika and Crosscamp. PLEINAIRCLUB members receive a 10% discount on camping and leisure accessories, excluding promotions.
The Regional Court of Feldkirch opened insolvency proceedings against Anaya Reisemobile GmbH on 15 September 2026. The company sold and rented motorhomes and caravans, repaired them, sold accessories, operated a wash facility and was a factory representative for Carado and Hymer. A restructuring procedure had already been opened in 2024 and was terminated on 3 April 2025 after a 20% restructuring plan quota was accepted. The new insolvency is attributed to failure to meet projected sales and rental figures for the 2026 high season (June to August). Liabilities amount to approximately EUR 1.2 million, with 22 creditors and 5 employees. The company agreed to closure because a positive going-concern forecast is no longer possible. Creditor claims can be filed until 27 October 2026; the examination hearing is scheduled for 9 November 2026, with attorney Dr. Bernhard Ess appointed as insolvency administrator.

The Feldkirch Regional Court has opened insolvency proceedings against Anaya Reisemobile GmbH from Röthis. Liabilities are around €1.2 million, affecting five employees and 22 creditors.
Hymer unveiled the Eriba Touring 530 Silver Edition caravan. The 2027 model has a pop-up roof, length 5.99 m and maximum weight 1300 kg. Price from 31,500 to 33,500 euros.
Hymer unveiled the updated fully integrated B-ML I 780 motorhome at Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf. Based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 415 CDI, the 2027 model is priced from 165,765 euros (up from 159,500 euros) and has a gross vehicle weight of 4,430 kg, requiring a C1 licence. A 330 W solar panel and an 80 Ah LFP battery are now standard, with an optional 360 Ah lithium package. The interior offers four berths, a 150-litre fridge and a bathroom with a sliding partition.
The German motorhome Hymer BMC-T 680 has entered the market with a starting price of 8 million rubles. The model is built on a Mercedes Sprinter 314 base with a 143 hp diesel engine, a 9-speed automatic transmission and a 92-litre fuel tank. Inside, there are five seats, two beds (three- and two-berth), a kitchen with gas burners and a fridge, a full shower and toilet, as well as a 450 kg payload garage and a 180-litre water tank. In Russia, such solutions remain niche, but interest is growing.
German company Sunlight, part of Erwin Hymer Group, has presented the Vanlife Class B motorhome based on the Fiat Ducato, measuring 5400 mm in length. The camper features a pop-up roof with a second-level sleeping area, an isolated cab, a rear lounge with two sofas and a folding table, a kitchen module with a 64-litre refrigerator and a bathroom. It is designed for two passengers while driving and offers sleeping space for four. Standard equipment includes an awning, a 95 Ah battery and fresh and waste water tanks of 100 and 90 litres respectively. The starting price is 58,999 euros.

Ahorn Camp announced new 2027 models based on Renault Master, including compact T 590 and A 595, plus the Eclipse design package.
The Caravan Xpo exhibition will be held from September 17 to 20 at X Meeting Point on Hellerudsletta, north of Oslo. It will feature more than 20 motorhome and caravan brands, including Adria, Hymer, Knaus, and others. Organizers expect the on-site camping area to be larger than in previous years. A Caravan.no store will offer accessories and discounts. A day ticket costs NOK 250, a four-day pass NOK 800, and camping NOK 300 per night.
On Monday afternoon, a 79-year-old actor from Friesland, born in Burgum, got his Hymer camper stuck in the tunnel on Rydwei near Rottevalle. He was not injured. It is suspected that the driver misjudged the height.

Hymer unveiled the updated flagship B-ML based on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, a special CrossOver series and three new models in the Xperience family. B-ML pricing is not announced, expected between 150,000 and 200,000 euros.
