According to Statens vegvesen, 67,415 motorhomes are registered in Norway. Hymer tops the brand statistics with 6,545 vehicles, accounting for 9.7% of the fleet. It is followed by Bürstner (5,595) and Dethleffs (5,538), all part of the Hymer Group. Next are Challenger (4,323) and Adria (4,263) from the Trigano Group. 51 brands have more than 100 registered motorhomes, together covering 65,205 units, or 96.7% of the total. The remaining 176 brand entries have 100 or fewer vehicles each, totaling 2,210 units. The data reflects historical registrations and may contain inaccuracies due to changes in registration practices.

Bürstner has unveiled the Habiton HM/HMX 6.0, a Mercedes Sprinter-based camper van measuring 5.90 m with a sliding bathroom on rails. Prices start at €74,999 for the HM 6.0 and €88,999 for the all-wheel-drive HMX 6.0. The HM 6.1, with a transverse bed and gas-free concept, is available from €79,999. An optional heated pop-top roof adds two sleeping places for €6,990 plus €450 for extra insulation. Toilets are offered at extra cost: Porta Potti for €250, dry separation toilet for €790, or Clesana X1 for €1,290.
At the Düsseldorf trade show, Burstner unveiled the Papillon PC 6.0 prototype, a motorhome based on the Peugeot Jumper with a 120 hp diesel engine. The model measures 5.99 metres long and 2 metres wide, with an interior height of 1.9 metres; it offers four seats and two berths in the rear. The starting price is 39,999 euros, and the maximum weight is 3,500 kg, allowing it to be driven with a category B licence. Production will begin in early 2026, with first vehicles arriving at dealers in spring.
The Bürstner Signature, named Camper of the Year 2026, has undergone its first test. The test vehicle is a pre-production model with under 1,000 km on the odometer, built on an Al-Ko chassis with independent rear suspension, which provides stable handling. The chassis is rated at 3,650 kg (category B), with a 140 hp engine and an optional automatic transmission in the test vehicle. The base price is just under €100,000; the tested configuration without a garage door is €125,000, and a similar setup in the configurator is €122,545 including BPM and delivery costs. Features include a 137-litre cooler drawer, two burners under a sliding glass panel, a sliding shower wall, and convertible seating.
On Sunday, 27 September, from 9:30 to 19:00, Bonometti Centrocaravan in Altavilla Vicentina holds an open day. The event follows the Salone del Camper in Parma and launches the dealership's seasonal calendar. Visitors can view 2027 caravan and camper novelties, as well as new and used vehicles from Bürstner, Carado, Etrusco, Hymer, Laika and Crosscamp. PLEINAIRCLUB members receive a 10% discount on camping and leisure accessories, excluding promotions.
Bürstner has unveiled the SIGNATURE motorhome based on a Mercedes-Benz chassis. The model features a patented rotating bench seat, panoramic roof windows, ambient lighting and acoustic fabric walls. The kitchen includes an extendable work surface and a refrigerator drawer. The bathroom uses patented sliding technology to create a spacious shower without permanent space usage. An optional fully retractable drop-down bed is available. A 150 Ah lithium battery, 200-liter fresh water tank and optional Gasfrei package support independent travel. Configurations are available through Bürstner dealers.
The 2026 Düsseldorf Caravan Salon showcased new motorhomes, caravans and camper vans. Among the exhibits were the Reisemobile ATventure 1070 motorhome, 10.7 m long on a Mercedes-Benz Actros chassis with a slide-out kitchen and roof terrace; the Dethleffs c.core concept camper van on a Volkswagen Crafter with a lightweight aluminium Necto body; the Beauer X6 caravan with a sliding section that expands width to 3.6 m; the Bürstner Habiton 6.1 camper van on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with 4x4; the Norantz IPAR 4 on a Mercedes or MAN chassis; the Westfalia Columbus Liner on a Fiat with an optional SkyLounge pop-up roof; the Rapido V64 on a Ducato; and the Adria Supertwin 4x4 on a Mercedes. Volkswagen presented inflatable modules for the California Beach and the all-electric ID. California Cruise based on the ID. Buzz, with production starting in 2027. Michel Boujenah, Daniel Guichard and Thomas Voeckler use motorhomes for travel and work. Boujenah regularly tours French regions with his family; Guichard has used a motorhome for years while on tour and showed it on M6's Zone interdite; Voeckler, during his cycling career, partnered with Burstner so his family could accompany him to competitions. International celebrities including David and Victoria Beckham, Beyoncé and Jay-Z have also been seen in motorhomes.
German manufacturer Bürstner has unveiled the Signature SMT 7.0 motorhome on a Mercedes Sprinter AL-KO chassis. Previously, the Signature series was based on the Fiat Ducato AL-KO. The new model measures 7.35 m long, 2.27 m wide and 2.80 m high. The base price starts at €96,090, including a 150 hp engine, 9G-Tronic automatic transmission, MBUX multimedia system, reversing camera and a 15 Ah lithium battery. Options include the Free-Gas pack with a two-burner induction hob, two 540 Ah lithium batteries, two 110 W solar panels and a 3600 W inverter, as well as Truma 6E or DE and Alde heaters. The Signature range now comprises four models: SMT 7.4 and 7.5 with a central bed (without and with a drop-down bed, respectively), and SMT 7.0 and 7.1 with twin beds (without and with a drop-down bed).

Bürstner has added two new camper vans to its B66 series: the C 640 with two fixed longitudinal beds and the C 644 with a rear lounge and a drop-down bed. Prices start at €81,866 and €85,688, respectively. Both models come with automatic transmission, awning, and Combi 6 D E diesel heating. The new models were first shown at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.
Burstner has presented the first production unit of its 2027 Signature SMT 7.5 motorhome at the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf. The model, based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, features transformable lounge, kitchen, and bathroom areas. It measures 7.66 meters in length and includes an electric drop-down bed, sliding kitchen elements, and a dry bathroom. The base price is €98,999, while the displayed unit with options is priced at €139,232.
According to the Swedish Caravan and Motorhome Industry Association, new motorhome registrations in Sweden rose by more than 50% in the first eight months of 2026 compared with the same period last year. The leading brands are Adria, Pilote and Bürstner, with a combined market share of 25%. Bürstner nearly tripled its registrations in a year, while Knaus saw a 10% decline. Caravan registrations also increased, but by only 5%.
Caravan Salon 2026 in Düsseldorf features over 830 exhibitors across nearly 250,000 square meters. For the first time, dedicated halls for roof tents (Hall 7a) and off-road vehicles (Halls 16 and 17) have been introduced. New models from Dethleffs, Bürstner, Pössl, Carthago, and debutant PerfectVan are on display. The fair runs from August 28 to September 6, with tickets starting at €18.

Buying a new motorhome in 2026 will be expensive, but a few models remain under €65,000. The cheapest is the Bürstner Papillon PC 6.0 at €56,590 (including taxes), followed by the GiottiLine GiottiVan 60 Be Young (from €55,950 excluding BPM) and the Citroën Holidays (from €64,100). All three have distinct features: the Papillon offers basic equipment and a fold-away bathroom, the GiottiVan has four berths and a diesel engine, and the Holidays is compact with an optional Max pack. From 2026, Dutch motorhome tax rates will rise, increasing annual costs.
Bürstner expands its B66 range with the B66 640C, a 6.36-meter camper van featuring twin beds. Standard equipment includes automatic transmission, 16-inch alloy wheels, Lanzarote metallic paint, an exterior awning, and a multimedia system with rear-view camera. The price is €64,490. The beds are 91 cm wide and 205 cm long on the right side, 185 cm on the left. The washroom uses the Vario system, providing a full shower. Options include a Truma Combi 6DE heater, pop-up roof, and leather upholstery. The range also adds the B66 644C with a U-shaped rear lounge and a roof bed.
