Dethleffs unveils C.Core concept motorhome at Caravan Salon

At the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon, Dethleffs presented the C.Core concept motorhome based on a Volkswagen Crafter. The vehicle features a lightweight construction using Necto, a multilayer aluminum panel inspired by bird bone structure, reducing weight by 25–45 kg compared to conventional builds. Insulation uses recycled PET, and roof-mounted solar panels unfold like petals to generate up to 600 W and double as an awning. Inside, a sliding worktop reveals a sink and two-burner induction hob, with an optional fold-out outdoor kitchen. The bathroom includes a pull-out Clesana toilet and swivel basin to expand shower space. The concept is designed for high autonomy with solar power, closed-loop water recycling, and a Truma multi-fuel heater compatible with HVO renewable fuel. No production is planned; C.Core serves as a research platform to test ideas for future models.
