Dethleffs C.Core concept
At the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, Dethleffs unveiled the C.Core concept motorhome based on a Volkswagen Crafter chassis. The prototype was developed under the research programme “Reiseziel Zukunft”.
- Materials: Necto® aluminium honeycomb panels inspired by bird bone structure reduce weight by 25–45 kg; insulation from recycled PET.
- Energy: fold-out roof solar panels generate up to 600 W; 400 Ah battery.
- Water: closed-loop system for greywater treatment and reuse.
- Heating: Trumaⓘ multi-fuel heater running on HVO.
- Interior: slide-out kitchen, fold-out outdoor kitchen, bathroom with retractable Clesana toilet.
According to the manufacturer, the C.Core can be self-sufficient from May to September in Europe. Series production is not planned: the concept serves as a testbed for future technologies.
