Caravan trip to the Alps: Fendt Bianco and BMW X3 tested in Tyrol

Auto Zeitung tested towing the Fendt Bianco caravan (weighing nearly 1.4 t) with a BMW X3 (about 400 hp) on Tyrolean roads. The route ran from the Ötztal valley to the Kühtai saddle (2020 m) and back towards Innsbruck. Towing requires getting used to the dimensions, but assistance systems such as the Truma Smart A mover (optional, €2,158) make maneuvering easier. The caravan offers more living space than a motorhome, and the tow car remains available for independent trips.

Nissan turns electric van into self-heating camper for €89,900

Iferland's Relax conversion allows the Nissan Interstar-e to run a parking heater solely from the traction battery, without external power. The price is €89,900. The base Interstar-e has an 87 kWh battery, a 143 hp electric motor, 300 Nm of torque, and supports DC fast charging up to 130 kW. WLTP range is up to 460 km, but real-world range for a loaded camper is unverified. The interior includes a fixed bed (1.90×1.60 m), a 90-liter fridge, an induction hob, a sink, and a portable toilet. The Truma Eezy heater operates on 230 V AC, requiring a converter between the battery and heater. Iferland sells the unconverted electric Interstar for €84,900, a difference of €5,000.

Eifelland Relax based on Nissan Interstar-e: camper with gas-free heating for €89,900

The new Eifelland Relax, built on the Nissan Interstar-e, draws heating power directly from the traction battery via V2L, eliminating the need for gas cylinders, diesel generators, or campsite hookups. Inside, there is a fixed bed measuring 1.90×1.60 m, an induction hob, a sink, and a 90-liter refrigerator. Payload is limited to 435 kg at a gross weight of 3.5 tons.
