Sunlight launches new 4x4 camper range Ibex

German manufacturer Sunlight has unveiled the Ibex family of 4x4 campers, comprising the 604D and 603D models based on the Volkswagen Crafter and Ford Transit, respectively. The 604D, featuring a 163 hp engine, automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive, will enter series production in August. The 603D, successor to the special CLIFF 4x4 Greentrek model, is powered by a 165 hp engine and comes with standard off-road equipment, including all-terrain tires and a Ford Raptor-inspired grille. Both models offer increased interior height and sleeping accommodations, with optional equipment for enhanced off-road capability.

The lineup includes the premium semi-integrated Sky TI motorhome on a VW Crafter base, the Nordwind caravan range, an updated Weinsberg CaraCompact Pepper, and the return of the Tabbert Vivaldi caravan in four variants. Prices for the Sky TI are expected below €100,000, while the CaraCompact 580 MEG starts at €66,900.

Carado, part of the Erwin Hymer Group, has introduced the CV595 X-Edition, its first off-road camper van. Based on a VW Crafter 4x4 with 163 hp and automatic transmission, the vehicle is 5.98 m long with a 1.98 m interior height. The rear extension creates a transverse double bed measuring 2×1.36 m. The model is a sister vehicle to the Sunlight IBEX, which shares the same platform and is set for series production by the 2027 season. Prices for both models have not yet been announced.

Designed for off-road use, the concept was tested in Iceland. Standard equipment includes a reinforced roof with semi-integrated awning and step, plus a transverse double bed measuring 200 x 136 cm.
