Between May 3 and 7, 2026, three burglaries and the theft of a Dethleffs caravan occurred in the Trier region (Germany). Police are seeking witnesses.
Earlier this year, several major companies, including Svenska Husbilsgruppen and seven other firms in the same group, went bankrupt. Now one of them, Hobby Fritid in Tenhult, will be rescued and restart under the name Tenhults Fritidscenter. The company starts with five employees (previously 22) and will sell Dethleffs and Laika motorhomes, but no caravans. Existing customers who bought a used motorhome cannot make claims against the new company.
In Tenhult, Sweden, after the bankruptcy of Hobby Fritid in January 2026, a new company Tenhults Fritidscenter is opening in the same premises under new management. Initially, 5 employees are hired, and the lineup includes motorhomes from Dethleffs, Laika, Knaus, and Etrusco. New motorhome registrations in Sweden in Q1 2026 increased by 85% compared to the same period last year.
Following Bürstner's announcement to stop producing caravans (towable trailers), questions arose about Dethleffs' plans. A company spokesperson stated that Dethleffs will not only continue but strengthen its caravan segment. In 2024, the Isny plant produced about 3,000 caravans. At the CMT fair in Stuttgart, the folding c.fold model, designed for electric vehicles, was showcased but will not enter series production.
Dethleffs presented the c.fold prototype caravan at the CMT show in Stuttgart. The model is designed for towing by electric cars and small vehicles. The caravan weighs 800 kg, has a travel height of 165 cm and a width of 190 cm. The top section lifts electrically, providing an interior height of up to 190 cm. The structure uses composite materials and recycled PET, and is equipped with lithium batteries, solar panels, and a 2000 W inverter.

Dealership Donaghey Motorhomes Ltd. has announced a vacancy for a mechanic to work on motorhomes and vans. The candidate must work independently and in a team, performing neat work.
