At the 65th Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf (August 28 – September 6, 2026), manufacturers are presenting numerous innovations reflecting growing demand for all-wheel-drive motorhomes and autonomy. For the first time, the all-wheel-drive camper CV 595 X-Edition debuts from budget brand Carado based on the VW Crafter, priced from 83,490 francs.
The market shows a shift: motorhome sales are rising, while caravan sales are falling. In the first five months of 2026, Germany registered 36,953 motorhomes (+1.4%) and 8,785 caravans (−8.4%). Bürstner completely ceases caravan production from model year 2027, Dethleffs reduces its range, while Hobby and Knaus-Tabbert expand their lines. Manufacturers focus on all-wheel drive and autonomy, as well as new solutions for compact campers.
