Folding caravan concept C-Fold
At the CMT 2026 trade fair in Stuttgart, German manufacturer Dethleffs unveiled the C-Fold (also referred to as c.fold) folding caravan concept. Aimed at electric vehicle owners, the trailer reduces to a height of 1.65 m (1.6 m per tuningblog), a width of 1.9 m, and a length of 5.5 m (under 5.45 m per Motor1.com España). Its curb weight is 775 kg, with plans to lower it to 600 kg in production.
The aluminum sandwich construction allows the body to lower for travel, cutting aerodynamic drag, and rise at the campsite to double interior space. Inside, a modular kitchen, a toilet that extends from the floor, and a front lounge that stows into a niche are featured. The caravan includes air suspension with self-leveling, electric roof actuation, integrated solar panels, and lithium batteries. According to the company, towing the C-Fold can increase an EV's range by 100 km compared to a conventional caravan.
