A retro campsite has opened at Gräbendorfer See, a former open-pit coal mine in Brandenburg that was flooded from 1996 to 2007, becoming the first fully flooded pit lake in the state. The lake has a 9.4 km walking trail, and its 170-hectare island is off-limits due to nesting by over 10 bird species.

On Monday morning, a 70-year-old driver lost control of his motorhome on Dorfstrasse in Kutenholz-Essel (Lower Saxony). The vehicle knocked down several meters of wooden fence, ran over a tree, and stopped in bushes on private property. The driver was unhurt; the motorhome was towed.
