On the morning of August 9, 2026, on the A3 near Seligenstadt, an 81-year-old driver of a VW Golf veered off his lane for unknown reasons and collided with a motorhome, causing his car to overturn and land on its roof. The driver was resuscitated at the scene and taken to a hospital, while his 74-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. The motorhome was destroyed in the collision, leaving a large debris field on the road. Traffic towards Frankfurt was fully closed and partially reopened by 12:45 p.m. Damage is estimated at around 40,000 euros.
