A campsite owner has filed a complaint with the Swedish Competition Authority against Lysekil Municipality, demanding that it be prohibited from operating its three municipal motorhome campsites. The complainant cites the new Public Commercial Activity Act, which entered into force on 1 August. The owner argues that the municipality should contract out operations to private operators because the municipal sites are subsidised by taxpayers. Additional motorhome pitches were developed in Valbodalen this summer.
