On the evening of August 24, 2026, a car caught fire on the A11 motorway near Rosenbach. The 67-year-old driver, heading towards Slovenia, noticed a loss of power and stopped, whereupon flames burst from the engine compartment. He managed to detach the towed caravan at the last second — it remained undamaged.
The car was completely burned out. Around 30 firefighters extinguished the blaze; no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the damage has not yet been assessed. The caravan contained gas cylinders.
