The German Institute for Service Quality (DISQ) has awarded the new Erwin Hymer Group brand CORIGON the "Product of the Year 2026" award, presented for the first time in the vehicles category. The jury evaluated brands on uniqueness, utility and market relevance. CORIGON offers reduced model ranges, proven floor plans and pre-configured equipment packages. For model year 2027, the Teilintegriert Pure range gains a revised T-hood, additional assistance systems and a standard multimedia package with reversing camera, plus an optional diesel heater. The 2.14 m wide Slim models receive a lifting bed and a larger refrigerator. The brand provides a seven-year leak-tightness warranty.
German company Sunlight, part of Erwin Hymer Group, has presented the Vanlife Class B motorhome based on the Fiat Ducato, measuring 5400 mm in length. The camper features a pop-up roof with a second-level sleeping area, an isolated cab, a rear lounge with two sofas and a folding table, a kitchen module with a 64-litre refrigerator and a bathroom. It is designed for two passengers while driving and offers sleeping space for four. Standard equipment includes an awning, a 95 Ah battery and fresh and waste water tanks of 100 and 90 litres respectively. The starting price is 58,999 euros.

Sunlight, part of the Erwin Hymer Group, offers the A70 Adventure Line as its most affordable motorhome. The test vehicle, based on a Fiat Ducato with 140 hp, measures 7.25 m in length and 3.14 m in height, providing ample space for four adults with two double beds, a kitchen with three burners, and a 156-liter fridge. However, the payload is limited: the motorhome weighs about 3.1 tons when ready to drive, with a maximum permissible weight of 3.5 tons. IMTEST rated it 2.7 (satisfactory).
Elddis, part of Erwin Hymer Group, has confirmed 217 redundancies after ceasing production at its Consett plant in County Durham. The move follows declining caravan registrations and rising demand for campervans and motorhomes in the UK. The company will retain a presence at Delves Lane, including the Elddis Experience Centre, and will design new campervan and motorhome ranges using Erwin Hymer Group's production network.
The European Safety Gate system has reported recalls for motorhomes from seven brands within the Erwin Hymer Group: Bürstner, Corigon, Dethleffs, Etrusco, Hymer, Laika, and LMC. The issue is a defective weld on the ISOFIX bracket, which may fail in a crash and increase the risk of injury to a child. The recall covers vehicles built from January 1, 2018, to May 1, 2026; the exact number of affected units has not been disclosed.
Caravan Salon 2026, the world's largest caravanning trade fair, will take place in Düsseldorf starting August 28. More than 750 exhibitors will showcase new motorhomes, caravans, and accessories. A Preview Day is scheduled for August 28 with limited tickets. The exhibition is spread across halls: Hall 1 features Knaus Tabbert, Hall 4 has Carthago and Westfalia, Hall 6 hosts Erwin Hymer Group, Hall 10 includes Adria, Hall 12 has Pössl and Globecar, and Hall 16 is dedicated to luxury and expedition vehicles. Hall 9 remains closed for renovation.

Carado, part of the Erwin Hymer Group, has introduced the CV595 X-Edition, its first off-road camper van. Based on a VW Crafter 4x4 with 163 hp and automatic transmission, the vehicle is 5.98 m long with a 1.98 m interior height. The rear extension creates a transverse double bed measuring 2×1.36 m. The model is a sister vehicle to the Sunlight IBEX, which shares the same platform and is set for series production by the 2027 season. Prices for both models have not yet been announced.
Changes are underway at the Erwin Hymer Group. After Bürstner announced it would cease caravan production in 2027, Dethleffs now also faces cuts. The company, considered the inventor of the caravan, is not exiting the trailer segment entirely but is discontinuing the Camper, Nomad, and Beduin Scandinavia lines. Dethleffs plans to return to the market in the 2028 model year with completely revamped models, a surprise given the comprehensive update of all three series in 2025.

Bürstner has launched the Signature series, a new model line that aims to redefine the design of seven-meter motorhomes. The SFT 7.5 model is based on a Fiat Ducato chassis with an AL-KO low-frame platform and features a 2.2-liter 140 hp turbodiesel engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Interior solutions borrow from more expensive models by Niesmann+Bischoff, part of the same Erwin Hymer Group.
Motorhome and camper manufacturer LMC (Lord Münsterland Caravan) is negotiating the reduction of 160 jobs at its Sassenberg plant in North Rhine-Westphalia. The move reflects a post-pandemic demand slump: German registrations fell over 15% year-on-year in 2025–2026. The company, part of Erwin Hymer Group (Thor Industries), is adjusting capacity to market conditions. No final agreement has been reached yet.
Bürstner, founded in 1924 as a carpentry and furniture workshop and producing caravans since 1959, has announced the end of caravan production. The decision was made due to weak sales in the trailer segment, ending 66 years of production. Bürstner, part of the Erwin Hymer Group since 1998, will focus on campervans and motorhomes. Service and spare parts supply for existing caravans will continue.
Ahorn Camp unveiled the T 690 model based on the updated Renault Master. The 6.99 m motorhome retains a starting price of €61,900 despite the chassis change and design refresh. The interior features an L-shaped seating group, optional sleeping for up to four people, and gas equipment. Production has moved to the Erwin Hymer Group plant in San Casciano.

German manufacturer Bürstner will fully stop caravan production from the 2027 season, focusing on campers and motorhomes. Service and spare parts for existing owners will continue.
Following Bürstner's announcement to stop producing caravans (trailers) due to declining demand, Dethleffs, also part of the Erwin Hymer Group, stated it has no plans to exit this segment. The company intends to strengthen its caravan division despite lower margins. In 2024, approximately 54,200 new caravans were registered across Europe, an 11% decrease year-on-year.
German manufacturer Ahorn Camp unveiled the new T680 motorhome at the CMT 2026 trade show, measuring 6.99 meters in length. The model features an electric lift bed measuring 2.00 x 1.50 meters and a large bathroom with a separate shower cabin. The motorhome is based on the fourth-generation Renault Master chassis, with production relocated to Italy following cooperation with the Erwin Hymer Group.
