Elddis, part of Erwin Hymer Group, has confirmed 217 redundancies after ceasing production at its Consett plant in County Durham. The move follows declining caravan registrations and rising demand for campervans and motorhomes in the UK. The company will retain a presence at Delves Lane, including the Elddis Experience Centre, and will design new campervan and motorhome ranges using Erwin Hymerⓘ Group's production network.
