German motorhome manufacturer Bürstner, part of the Erwin Hymer Group, will completely cease production of caravans (trailers) from the 2027 season. The company will focus on campers and motorhomes. Service and spare parts supply for previously built caravans will be maintained in full.
The decision is linked to declining demand for caravans in the industry. According to one source, caravan sales in Europe fell by 11% in 2025, and in Germany by 13.4%. Caravan production had historically been the foundation of Bürstner's business since the 1950s.
