Seven motorhome brands recalled over faulty ISOFIX mount

The European Safety Gate system has reported recalls for motorhomes from seven brands within the Erwin Hymer Group: Bürstner, Corigon, Dethleffs, Etrusco, Hymer, Laika, and LMC. The issue is a defective weld on the ISOFIX bracket, which may fail in a crash and increase the risk of injury to a child. The recall covers vehicles built from January 1, 2018, to May 1, 2026; the exact number of affected units has not been disclosed.

From July 2026, new motorhomes in the EU must have 8 mandatory assistants

Starting July 7, 2026, all newly registered motorhomes in the EU must comply with the full GSR II safety package. This applies to light motorhomes up to 3.5 tonnes and includes systems such as intelligent speed assistance, driver drowsiness warning, emergency braking, and more. For DIY conversions of older vans, this may mean the end of obtaining motorhome status, as retrofitting these systems to older bases is technically and economically unfeasible. Prices for new motorhomes will rise by thousands to tens of thousands of crowns.

Electric motorhome shows how unsuitable this drive is for some vehicles

The Nissan Interstar-e Relax, an electric motorhome based on a van developed with Eifelland, has a WLTP range of 410 km, but in real conditions it achieves only 200–300 km, and on highways at 70–80 km/h, about 150 km. The maximum charging power is 130 kW, and the price is €89,900 (2.18 million CZK). Due to limited range and the need to power all onboard appliances from the battery, such a vehicle is practically unsuitable for long trips, for example, to the seaside.

Renault Trafic Wavecamper test: outperforms VW California in some areas

A seven-day, 3000 km test of the Polish-converted Renault Trafic Wavecamper found it more spacious and better for storage than the Volkswagen California, but with a less refined roof tent and furniture. The roof tent was difficult to fold and prone to wear, while the upper bed was noisy and uncomfortable. The vehicle features solar panels, a gas hob, fridge, shower, and chemical toilet, making it suitable for a family of four.

Czechs increasingly choose motorhome holidays: semi-integral or alcove? Buy or rent?

Demand for modern fully equipped motorhomes in the Czech Republic is rising. According to Lukáš Janoušek from the digital rental platform Campiri, semi-integral models are the most popular, comfortably accommodating a family.
