Volkswagen Grand California gets yacht-inspired interior

Forster has announced a 2027 model year update for its Coupé range of low-profile motorhomes. For an extra €1,000 over the previous year's model, buyers get a completely redesigned interior with stone-look worktops, light wood decor, and a new taupe/grey colour scheme. Three floorplans are offered: 5.99 m (TC 599 HB), 6.36 m (639 LF), and 6.69 m (669 EBN), all with a 3.5-tonne maximum weight and a diesel heater as standard. Four option packages are available: Travelline (165 hp, reversing camera, Isofix), Comfort-Line (awning, bike rack), Driver Assistance Pack (adaptive cruise control, navigation), and Silver Dust Edition (silver cab, 16-inch black alloys). Base price starts at €55,900.

New operator Marko Kögler announced plans to modernize the nature campsite in Möhlau, Saxony-Anhalt. The site, with 120 pitches, forest, and lake access, is set to feature safari huts. Kögler and his wife took over the campsite in 2026 and are gradually upgrading the facility.

On July 10 in Lippstadt, North Rhine-Westphalia, police stopped a motorhome that had no windshield or side windows. The driver said he removed them because of the heat. The vehicle was deemed unsafe, confiscated, and the driver faces multiple charges.

A truck rear-ended a caravan on the A6 near St. Leon-Rot, causing extensive damage to three vehicles. According to police, a 29-year-old truck driver, around 1:45 p.m., collided with the caravan of a 73-year-old driver between the Kronau junction and the Walldorf interchange. The caravan was pushed into the towing vehicle, which then hit the guardrail. No injuries were reported. The estimated damage is 40,000 euros.

Karmann has introduced the Dexter 555, based on the Fiat Ducato. The vehicle is 5.99 m long, 2.05 m wide, and with the insulated high roof reaches nearly 2.90 m in height. A second double bed is integrated into the roof and lowers electrically. The rear section contains two separate single beds. Standard equipment includes a 120 Ah lithium battery, diesel heating, cruise control, cabin air conditioning, Isofix mounts, and a heated waste water tank. The Boost package adds a second 135 Ah lithium battery and a 200 W solar panel for off-grid use.

A new campsite, Wildwood Camping Uckermark, has opened in the Uckermark region near Lychen. It provides pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, along with access to natural areas and water routes.
