A woman born in the 1990s from Jiangxi province is travelling across China in a converted three-wheel camper and collecting litter along the way. She is heading to Tibet, where she continues to pick up waste encountered on the route. The trip was reported by Sina.

On October 13, in Yiyang County, Luoyang, Henan Province, Luoyang Qilang RV Equipment Co., Ltd. lined up a batch of motorhomes ready for delivery. The company develops and manufactures motorhomes, holds more than 60 national patents, offers models for family trips and camping, including new energy and range-extended hybrid series, and sells its products across China.

Chinese outlet Sina published a guide for a three-day motorhome route from Beijing via Chongli Forest Camp, Caoyuan Tianlu and Bashang. The loop covers about 600 km with a daily budget of around 600 yuan per person. Campsites are said to offer water and electricity hookups, with photography services and a herdsmen's dinner available. For beginners, a shorter suburban Beijing route is recommended; for couples, an extension to Chengde includes low-altitude flights and hot air balloon rides for an extra fee of about 300 yuan per person. Motorhome rental for three days costs 1,200–1,800 yuan including insurance, fuel about 600 yuan, and campsite fees 100–200 yuan per night.

A woman in Tangshan bought a motorhome for 300,000 yuan but couldn't register it for two years. After authorities intervened, her documents were approved and registration is underway.

A Chinese publication presented three 5-day motorhome routes in Shandong province. The routes include stops in Linqu (altitude 876 m, summer temperatures about 8°C lower than the city), Weihai (area of 158,000 sq m) and Rizhao (5C-rated campsite). The budget for a motorhome trip is estimated at 3,000–4,500 yuan for a family of two adults and one child, including campsites, fuel and food. It is noted that on summer weekends, places must be booked 1–2 weeks in advance.

A campsite for motorhomes, campervans and caravans has opened in Lu'an, Anhui province. The Nanshan site accommodates up to 35 vehicles and is divided into large and small sections. Each pitch has its own water point and drain; water is free and electricity is activated by QR code. The site offers toilets, permits open fires, barbecues and tents. It sits at the start of the 90-li landscape route, within walking distance of the 4A Nanshan resort and 30–40 minutes' drive from Wanxi Grand Canyon, Dabie Mountain Grottoes and Dabie Mountain Valley.

In September, ten Chinese government departments issued measures to boost motorhome consumption, including extending the service life of rental motorhomes, promoting campsite construction and supporting product upgrades. Industry participants in Linyi, Shandong Province, call the 10-year extension the biggest benefit, but note that the sector faces a shortage of equipped campsites, declining profits for converters and uncertainty in the used market. A rental company owner said that for a fleet of 20 vehicles, extending service life from 15 to 25 years would cut annual fixed costs per vehicle from over 50,000 yuan to about 40,000 yuan, saving more than 200,000 yuan per year. A used motorhome dealer reported selling 5 units in September 2025 versus 18 a year earlier, and awaits clarification on whether the new term applies to already converted commercial vehicles.

Sina published a comparative guide to three-day motorhome camping routes for summer 2026, based on field tests. For the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the recommended route is the Grassland Starry Sky route (Ulanqab) covering 680 km with daily drives under 130 km and summer temperatures of 16-24°C; for the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region, the South Zhejiang Mountain and River loop (500 km, 100-120 km per day, 5-8°C cooler than cities); for Sichuan and Chongqing, the Western Sichuan Tibetan plateau route (750 km, 150 km per day, altitude 3000-4000 m). Beginners and families with children or elderly are advised to choose the Hainan Island loop (400 km, 80-100 km per day). BAIC launched the Ruifeng Wangpai M7 camper in March 2026. The model is available with 1.6L or 2.0L petrol engines, as well as CNG and electric powertrains, with prices ranging from 59,800 to 153,800 yuan. The camper version features a 6 kWh battery and a fold-out bed measuring 1.95 by 1.2 meters, with a starting price of 89,800 yuan. It has a length of 5,240 mm and a wheelbase of 3,200 mm, offering 6,100 liters of interior volume. The manufacturer provides a 5-year or 100,000 km warranty and service through 876 stations nationwide.

Demand for motorhome camping is growing in Fuzhou. Campsites include Zhuli, Zonglü, Baizhang, Lanchun and Yongtangsheng. Motorhomes cost from 300,000 to 500,000 yuan.

Five campsites in Jiangxi Province are presented for 3-day motorhome trips, varying in capacity, infrastructure and services. Sanbaishan Campground in Anyuan County, Ganzhou, covers about 360 mu, has 53 motorhomes and 98% forest coverage; Tuju Jiujiang Ningzhou Shuixiang Campground in Xiushui County, Jiujiang, has 50 motorhomes and a five-star rating since 2021, open 09:00–17:00. Gaobafu Campground in Gao'an spans 24,000 mu, Taobocheng Campground in Jingdezhen offers 308 parking spaces and 24-hour free service, and Fenghuang Lake Campground in Dexing provides lakeside parking. For families with children, Sanbaishan and Tuju Jiujiang are recommended; for couples, Dexing or Gao'an; for solo travelers, Jingdezhen. Estimated budget for 3 days/2 nights: about 2500 yuan for families, 2000 yuan for couples, 1500 yuan for solo travelers. Not all campsites have EV charging stations.

Sina Tourism published a comparison of three five-day motorhome itineraries based on summer 2025–2026 field data. The South Zhejiang Qiandao Lake–Moganshan loop is aimed at families with children: average daily drive about 2 hours, budget about 5,500 yuan per vehicle. The West Sichuan mini-loop (Chengdu–Kangding–Xinduqiao–Danba–Siguniangshan) covers about 800 km and suits beginners, with a budget of about 3,000 yuan per vehicle and altitudes of 2,500–3,500 m. The grassland route from the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei region covers 680 km with daily drives of no more than 130 km and costs about 750 yuan per person. For the Qiandao Lake loop, a Class C motorhome under 6 metres is recommended due to height and turning-radius limits; popular campsites at Qiandao Lake and Moganshan require booking one week ahead, and grassland campsites 7 days ahead in June–August.

Shandong province is expanding charging and camping facilities for travellers sleeping in their vehicles. According to Rongcheng Customs, exports of motorhomes from Rongcheng reached 1.06 billion yuan in the first half of the year, up 21% year-on-year, accounting for 87.6% of the province's motorhome exports and over 55% of the national total. As of 20 April 2026, Shandong had 19,600 active camping-related companies. The province's expressway service areas now include 470 charging stations with 3,762 charging guns, 34 driver rest areas and 18 motorhome campsites. In June 2026, Qingdao was selected as one of 40 pilot cities for automotive consumption reform, focusing on motorhome camping.

A video circulating online shows a woman converting a decommissioned tram into a motorhome. The project was carried out in an outdoor setting. A Chinese automotive video blogger published a review of a new motorhome built on a light truck chassis with larger water tanks and batteries. The post appeared on Sina on 9 October 2026; it contains only demonstration footage, with no model, price or technical specifications given.

In Zepu County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, a motorhome campsite has upgraded equipment and expanded services in response to the autumn 2026 tourism peak. On 9 October, Jiaze City Operations replaced outdated parts, cleaned the area and restocked supplies. The campsite offers fast and slow charging for electric vehicles, shower water and clean parking spaces. Local authorities continue to develop infrastructure for motorhome travel to attract visitors.

On October 10, 2026, an international motorhome exhibition opened in Wuhan and will run until October 12. The exhibition area is 23,000 sq. m, featuring over 50 brands and more than 300 models.

Tourists increasingly sleep in ordinary passenger cars to save on accommodation. Experts call for a ban on lying down while driving and for more campsites and paid parking with water and shower facilities.
