Erlensee campsite in Bavaria has topped the PiNCAMP ranking, the camping portal of ADAC, as Germany's most dog-friendly campsite. The ranking is based on an analysis of around 500,000 online reviews from across Europe, in which AI identified about 12,500 statements about camping with dogs. It assessed how dogs are treated, walking options, access to lakes and other waters, facilities and fees; only sites that allow dogs and have at least ten relevant reviews from the past three years were included. The campsite is open all year, with a standard pitch from €33 per night in low season and €39 in high season, including two people, and dogs cost an additional €4 per night. Dogs may swim in the lake but not in the bathing area on the campsite side with the restaurant and playground; the dog beach is on the opposite shore.
