According to an analysis by camping.info, the most-viewed campsite in Europe in 2026 was Falkensteiner Camping Grubhof in the Austrian state of Salzburg, directly on the German border. The ranking is based on profile views from January to September 2026; more than 23,000 sites in 44 countries were analysed.

The campsite covers 12 hectares and offers 256 tourist pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents, as well as cabins, chalets and rooms. In the camping.info Award 2026, based on guest reviews from the past five years, Grubhof ranks only fifth, indicating a difference between demand and quality rating.
Germany in the top 100
Among Europe's 100 most popular campsites, 47 are in Germany, 23 in Austria and 18 in Italy. Within Germany, Insel-Camp Fehmarn in Schleswig-Holstein holds the highest position.
