According to the PiNCAMP Most Wanted 2026 ranking published by ADAC, German campsites have become the most popular among portal users. The top 100 in Europe includes 39 German sites, nine more than last year. Germany is followed by Italy (25) and Croatia (23).
Within the country, Schleswig-Holstein leads with ten campsites, followed by Bavaria (9), Baden-Württemberg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (6 each). The first place overall was defended by Camping- und Ferienpark Wulfener Hals on Fehmarn, while newcomer Rosenfelder Strand Ostsee Camping in Schleswig-Holstein immediately took second place, rising from 203rd position.
The average number of overnight places in the top 100 is 422, and 73% of sites have an ADAC classification of 4.5 or 5 stars. The ranking is based on page view data from German users of PiNCAMP.de from January 1 to July 31, 2026.
