camping.info 2026 ranking
Camping.info analysed page views of more than 23,000 campsites in 44 countries from January to September to compile a list of the 100 most sought-after campsites in Europe for the 2026 season.
Falkensteiner Camping Grubhof in Sankt Martin bei Lofer (Salzburg) took first place. Two more Salzburg campsites made the top 100: Seeterrassencamping Wolfgangsee (34th) and Romantik-Camping Wolfgangsee Lindenstrand (79th). Austrian Camping Murinsel in Grosslobming (Murtal district, Styria) ranked 92nd.
In total, five Austrian campsites are in the top 10. By total number of entries in the top 100, Germany leads with 47, followed by Austria with 23 and Italy with 18. The average cost of a night for two people, including pitch, electricity and tourist tax, is 40 euros in Austria, 41 euros in Croatia and around 30 euros in Germany.
