East Suffolk Council has approved a new holiday park on farmland in Brightwell, south of the Brightwell Lakes development. The scheme comprises 25 static lodges and 12 touring caravan pitches, plus a reception and amenity building, play facilities, parking and landscaping. The applicant revised the plan after a refusal in 2023 and a dismissed appeal in January 2025: the number of static units was cut from 31 to 25, and a pedestrian crossing on Ipswich Road was added. The developer has agreed to contribute to the Suffolk Recreational Avoidance and Mitigation Strategy and to implement a visitor management plan.
