Residents packed a community meeting in Bournemouth to express anger over the growing number of motorhomes and campervans parked along the cliffs in Boscombe and Southbourne. Complaints focused on oversized vehicles blocking sightlines on narrow coastal roads, creating dangerous conditions, and spreading onto pavements with generators and petrol cans. Organiser John Porter said reports of poor hygiene in nearby green spaces had deepened anger, contrasting "five or six long-term van dwellers" with "many, many, many hundreds of residents who are paying local tax." Campervan dweller Doug rejected claims about park sanitation, saying he usually stays two or three days and blaming waste problems on homelessness rather than responsible van owners. Earlier proposals included clearer parking signs, a permit system, improved sanitation, and controls for generators.
