Police are warning about a new scam targeting private sellers of cars and motorhomes. Posing as buyers, fraudsters show fake screenshots or simulations of banking apps on their phones to confirm a non-existent payment and take the vehicle before any money arrives. Since late 2025, the RDW has tightened re-registration rules, requiring a valid Dutch driving license.
