In 2025, Jean-Pierre Laborde, a member of the Pays de Fayence motorhome club and the French Federation of Motorhome Associations and Clubs (Ffaccc), was travelling with the club in northern Spain. On 30 April, his Randger R602 camper van suffered a battery failure in central Toledo, blocking traffic. As the vehicle was still under warranty, the club's insurance was not needed, but Fiat asked him to wait until Monday due to the 1 May public holiday. Fellow club members helped restart the engine with a booster, and the next day they accompanied him to a shop where he bought a new battery, which they installed together in the rain. Fiat did not reimburse the battery.
