A storm that has been affecting the Azores since the night of August 5 has caused several floods on São Jorge and São Miguel and forced the evacuation of 67 people from the Praia da Vitória campsite on Terceira Island. The Azores emergency services reported seven incidents by the morning of August 6, including three floods in gardens and homes in Vila Franca do Campo, one in a house in Nordeste, one in Velas, and a landslide on a regional road in Nortes. An orange warning (the second most severe on a three-level scale) for rain and thunderstorms is in effect for the central and eastern island groups until 21:00 and 12:00 local time, respectively.
