Due to a storm that hit the Azores since the night of August 5, 67 people were evacuated from the Praia da Vitória campsite on Terceira Island. Flooding was recorded on São Jorge and São Miguel, along with a landslide on a regional road. Authorities issued an orange warning (second-highest on a three-level scale) for rain and thunderstorms for the central and eastern island groups, in effect until 9 p.m. local time (10 p.m. in Lisbon) for the eastern group and until noon (1 p.m. in Lisbon) for the central group. A yellow wind warning is also in effect.
