79-year-old Bob Twaites from Kent had lived in a caravan by a stream on the Swanscombe peninsula for 35 years. On 6 May, returning from the shop, he found the caravan and all his belongings, including an urn with his son's ashes, destroyed by a bulldozer.
The demolition was carried out by Land Logical, which replaced Swanscombe Development LLP, the owner of the plot. Lawyers say the developers should have sought an eviction order rather than destroying property.
On 30 September, Twaites applied to Dartford County Court for an interim injunction allowing him to return to the plot with another caravan during the proceedings. Judge Catherine Brown postponed the decision until 11:00 on 15 October.
