British workshop VannyCampers, based in Bristol, has unveiled the Newt, a compact camper based on a long-wheelbase 2025 Volkswagen Crafter with a 2.0 TDI engine, front-wheel drive and manual gearbox, meeting Euro 6 standards. The vehicle offers four berths, an all-electric kitchen and a full-width rear bathroom. Power comes from 400 Ah of Victron ⓘLiFePO4 lithium batteries, 440 W of solar panels and a 3,000 VA inverter. Water capacity is approximately 180 litres fresh and 90 litres grey. The news angle: it is the first camper fully built in-house by VannyCampers; it will be given away on 20 October 2026 and is not available for order.
