NHTSA Lists Weekly Recalls

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued its weekly list of vehicle recalls. Winnebago is recalling 2024-2025 Ekko motorhomes because the touchscreen may register phantom inputs and turn on the generator unintentionally. Brinkley RV is recalling 2027 Model I trailers because the exterior ladder may not be properly secured. Forest River is recalling 2027 Leprechaun and Freelander RVs because a battery-post-mounted breaker may be missing, leaving the power feed wire without overcurrent protection. Escape Trailer Industries is recalling 2025-2026 Escape E13 F1 trailers because insufficient ventilation around the refrigerator may allow carbon monoxide to build up in the cabin. Chrysler is recalling 2019-2026 Ram 1500 vehicles because the second-row seat belt buckle anchors may have been improperly installed, failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 210.

A vintage Vogue motorhome, a luxury Class A RV from the 1980s, was spotted at a used car dealership in Kalispell, Montana, in showroom condition. The Vogue brand was founded in 1974 in Los Angeles by Andy Alburn, a former Winnebago dealer. Production continued until 1998, with models built on Chevrolet, Gillig, John Deere, Crown, and Prevost chassis. The company changed hands in 1990 to Harvey Mitchell and in 1998 to Featherlite, which renamed the line Vantare.

It debuted July 18 on local TV stations, will air through summer, and be published online in fall. The project coincides with the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Winnebago has introduced two new compact Class C motorhomes, the Elora and Resa, built on the RAM ProMaster chassis (equivalent to the Citroën Jumper and Peugeot Boxer). Power comes from a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine producing 284 hp and 355 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Electrical systems are powered by a 5 kWh lithium battery. Pricing starts at $153,772.

Grand Design RV recalled 448 of its 2026–2027 Lineage travel trailers on July 10, and Winnebago recalled 134 of its 2027 Navion and View motorhomes on July 14. Both recalls stem from a MaxxAir N-Series Maxxfan rooftop ventilation fan whose printed circuit board can overheat and cause a fire. Neither company manufactured the fan; it was sourced from a supplier. The recalls are filed by the vehicle manufacturers as required by federal law.
