Four municipalities in the Baix Penedès region (Tarragona) — Sant Jaume dels Domenys, Albinyana, La Bisbal del Penedès and Cuniti — are jointly creating a network of equipped motorhome parking areas. Each zone will accommodate five vehicles and will feature waste-water dumping points, fresh water refill stations and, in some cases, electrical hook-ups. The maximum stay is three days.
The Baix Penedès regional council has allocated €54,000 for the project. Work is expected to take about six weeks. The initiative aims to manage the growing flow of motorhome tourists and prevent unauthorised parking in unsuitable locations.
