The city of Halle (Saale) has completed the expansion of its campsite located between the Nordbad (North Bath) and the Saale river. The number of caravan pitches has been increased from 15 to 30, and new tent areas have been added. A permanent sanitary building with showers and toilets has replaced the previous container facility, designed to be barrier-free and child-friendly.
The project responds to the growing popularity of caravanning: in 2025, Germany recorded 44.7 million overnight stays (+4%). According to city marketing, caravanners previously bypassed Halle due to a lack of supply. Further expansion is planned, including a 70-pitch site in Sandanger.
The Nordbad is scheduled to open on May 18, and the Salinebad on May 20.
