Wiltshire planners have given the go-ahead for a camping and caravan site at Thornham Farm near Melksham. Farmers Simon and Amy Plumb, who set up two glamping pods (according to one source) or two glamping tents (according to another) in 2023, plan to expand their tourist offering to improve the farm's viability.
The site includes four teepee tents (one source) or four bell tents (another source) on wooden platforms, 10 tent pitches, four touring caravan pitches, and sanitary facilities. Approval was granted on condition that passing places are created on the narrow New Lane and that strict limits are placed on external lighting to protect bats.
