Martin Mongans, 48, of Edinburgh, admitted stealing a £22,000 2018 Swift Sprint Quatro caravan from Crimdon Dene Holiday Park in County Durham on March 25. The caravan was secured with a wheel clamp, but it was removed and towed away by a white Citroen van. Police spotted the van towing the caravan on the A181 near Castle Eden the following night at about 11pm; four men fled, and Mongans was detained after a Taser was used. His DNA was found on a discarded cigarette, a bottle neck and the vehicle dashboard. He was jailed for 17 months.
