Redcar and Cleveland Council has approved plans for a small holiday park with five static caravans on land at Charltons off the A171 Birk Brow Road near Guisborough. The application, first submitted in 2024, was granted last month by a planning officer under delegated powers. The scheme involves converting what was described as horsicultural land and includes outdoor seating and decking areas. The North York Moors National Park had no objections but recommended maintaining existing natural screening and ensuring lighting is dark night skies compliant. Council engineers initially deferred the application over vehicle access concerns, but later withdrew objections after receiving further information on visibility splays.
