The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the Department of Natural Environment, Sustainability, Security and Emergencies, has launched a new service area for caravans and motorhomes at the Punto Limpio in Buenavista del Norte, the first in the Isla Baja region, which includes the municipalities of Los Silos, Garachico, El Tanque and Buenavista del Norte. It is the fifth dedicated facility on the island, joining two in Arona (Punto Limpio and Malpaso Logistics Centre), one in Jagua (Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and one at the La Guancha Logistics Centre. The areas allow the disposal of black and grey water and the refilling of drinking water to prevent unauthorised dumping. In the first month and a half of operation, the three existing points recorded 911 users: 543 in Arona, 239 in Jagua and 129 in La Guancha. Opening hours match those of the Punto Limpio facilities: Monday 8:00–16:00, Tuesday to Friday 8:00–20:00, Saturday 9:00–20:00, Sunday 9:00–14:00.
