Lisa Williams, 64, after her husband's death in 2014 could no longer afford rent for her house in Palm Springs, California, and moved into a caravan. She works in national parks in exchange for free parking spots, receiving a survivor's pension of $1,764 per month and $1,100 per month from her husband's life insurance.
