Benicarló, located north of Castellón, is presented as a relaxed alternative to Peñíscola for camper travelers. The town features kilometer-long beaches (Gurugú, Morrongo, Caracola), a port with a lively atmosphere, and historical and archaeological heritage, including a historic center with monuments from the 15th–16th centuries and ruins of ancient walls.
Notably, the archaeological site Puig de la Nau is one of the best-preserved Iberian settlements in the Valencian Community, with wall remains over 2 meters high.
For overnight stays, Camping Alegría del Mar is recommended, located 1.5 km from the center, offering electricity and waste (gray water) disposal. However, overnight parking at La Partida Solaes is prohibited and monitored by local police.
