Spain's DGT has approved Instruction PROT 2026/04, replacing the 2023 regulation. It incorporates a 2018 Supreme Court ruling that allows municipalities to regulate parking and camping areas for motorhomes. The instruction clarifies that parking without deploying external elements is not considered camping. It also introduces a new sign for waste disposal points and updates ITV inspection intervals: motorhomes (category M) are exempt for 4 years, then every 2 years until 10 years, then annually; camper vans (category N) require annual inspections until 10 years, then every 6 months.
